Why does Mortenson feel that "CAI schools should educate students only up through the fifth grade and focus on increasing the enrollment of girls" (Mortenson and Relin 209)? And, what does this say about Pakistani society?

Why do you think the U.S. requires student education to the 12th grade? And, what does this say about our society?

    In Pakistan, most of the people are still illiterate because there are few schools. Because most of Pakistani people are illiterate, people don't have to compete with other to get good jobs just like in U.S. Mortenson thinks as long as the children can read and know basic science lesson, they will have better life. Unlike in Pakistan, in the U.S. everyone has to go to school. In order to get a good job you have to earn at least a college degree. Nowadays earning a bachelor degree isn't enough to achieve high position in a company.

Ancient Rome: When Being a Teen was Tough

Being a teenage in ancient Rome wasn't easy. There were no X-box 360's to play or cars to drive, or even chariots to cruise around in. Don't get me wrong, there were chariots, but the only teens that got to drive them were those young men going off to fight the latest Roman war, or, if they were lucky enough, race around the colliseum, a sport that often resulted in death. According to A Glimpse of Teenage Life in Ancient Rome while your average American teenager devotes more than seven hours a day to imbibing media – to watching TV, playing video games, hanging out on Facebook — the average 17-year-old Roman kid (circa 73 AD) had some more serious business to deal with. The 12 Types of Procrastinators and Kittens

How did I run across this great comic?  I was procrastinating of course!  Instead of grading papers, working on lesson plans, or writing the myriad papers that are coming due, I was cruising through Facebook and this little gem from Mashable caught my eye. What kind of procrastinator am I? The Cleaner - definitely - my house could always use a good scrubbing before I actually start grading papers or writing.  Although, lots of thinking gets done as my bathroom starts to shine (that's justification on top of procrastination). The Sidetracker - yes, sometimes writing about comics is a lot more fun than grading papers (no offense).
