Why does Mortenson feel that "CAI schools should educate students only up through the fifth grade and focus on increasing the enrollment of girls" (Mortenson and Relin 209)? And, what does this say about Pakistani society?

Why do you think the U.S. requires student education to the 12th grade? And, what does this say about our society?

  1. In Pakistan, most of the people are still illiterate because there are few schools. Because most of Pakistani people are illiterate, people don't have to compete with other to get good jobs just like in U.S. Mortenson thinks as long as the children can read and know basic science lesson, they will have better life. Unlike in Pakistan, in the U.S. everyone has to go to school. In order to get a good job you have to earn at least a college degree. Nowadays earning a bachelor degree isn't enough to achieve high position in a company.
