10 Best Viral Visual College Jokes
Sometimes school just has to make you laugh!
You know those pictures on the web, at places like quickmeme.com, that have the Success Kid photo with a caption that says something like, "Day off in the middle of the week. TWO FRIDAYS!" Bachelors Degree Online collected The 10 Best Colleges Memes from this School Year and some of them are really funny.
Here's a couple of my favorites:
Lazy College Senior
I'm not sure I would just say this about seniors. C'mon it's funny! Considered the antithesis of College Freshman, Lazy College Senior drinks beer and deals with senioritis. Originally created in November 2011, this meme really took off with nearly 10,000 up votes prior to being archived. 10,000 votes! His parents must be so proud.
Having been a returning college student this one made me giggle:
Senior College Student
I have also seen this one as "Corrects History Professor. Remembers Being There." This meme features Nola Ochs, a Guinness World Record holder as the world's oldest graduate. Younger colleagues would do well to emulate Ochs' resoluteness as a Senior College Student. Remember, if college gets put aside for a semester or two, it's never too late to go back to school. I took one class a semester for an unmentionable amount of years, but I finally finished college. Don't get discouraged.
Do you like art? Do you like writing? Do you like working with computers? Somebody gets paid to do this. I'm not sure what major would qualify, perhaps multimedia or graphic arts.
These memes are yet another example of visual texts. It's summer. Take time to laugh--then get back to work.

I think these pictures are hilarious. These memes have become extremely popular all over the internet. I often see these posted on Facebook and tumbler. I think they make a good distraction for a good laugh every once in a while. The reason they are found funny is because people know its true and they can relate.
ReplyDeleteI agree that these pictures are extremely funny only because they are true. I have seen many other memes about college and i think they are a great modern way to depict how many people think. I also believe that finishing college is very important, I am happy to hear you graduated. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThe best memes are the ones that are true! They have me laughing for days. I can relate to some of them like the one posted above. Although some are harsh, they don't really mean any harm. At my high school, some students made memes about our teachers. They were hilarious, hopefully everyone enjoys them as much as I do.
ReplyDeleteThe second I saw the "Senior college student" picture I started laughing and I just couldn't stop. Both of the pictures however, were really funny. I don't think I've seen these two pictures anywhere else, I would see other types of images that make a joke of people but never these. I think that the reason why I found funny the image of the "Lazy college senior" is because it's true. Not the part about drinking, but the part that deals with college seniors procrastinating their work.
ReplyDeleteI definitely LOL'ed when i read both of these. The first one describes me perfectly. I started having really bad procrastination habits starting my junior year in high school. Since then, nothing has changed. Now that I'm college projects and big research papers i take more time on, but little assignments i literally do them the day they are do. As for the "Senior lab partner" meme, i haven't encountered having an elderly person as my partner so far, but if i do, i most certainly hope he or she does not die...especially if they are the ones with all the work! ;D
ReplyDeletei meant to put due*
DeleteThe best jokes are the ones that really portray how society works. Students everywhere fall victim to procrastination, with the vast amount of electronics for people to use it is extremely difficult to devote honest hours. Time management is the key to overcome procrastination.
ReplyDeleteI think that creating pictures like those would be fun. There pictures are becoming more popular and i see why. Not only do they talk about college seniors, but they also talk about many other topics like sports or sponge bob. Now about the college pictures i think they are funny and true. I can sort of relate to this because I procrastinate a lot. So by the time I'm a senior I hope i'm not like the guy in the picture.
ReplyDeleteI think that these memes are just quite hilarious, and are so relevant. As I was telling my friend, I didn't go to class last week because I didn't feel good, but luckily I found out later that my class was cancelled. Most of the memes can relate in some way to my everyday life. They twist words and content and make it much more funnier. The visual that is add makes the content much more hilarious because as the readers we are able to understand the quote better.
ReplyDeletei think both images are true. the one with the elderly woman is not as funny. but the picture of the man drinking a beer is totally true when it comes to school. kids procrastinate so much that they always do their homework on the day it is due. but this gets harder to do when you are in college. you have more work to do that is due the next day, so you have no time to put off the work. no matter what, you HAVE to do it the day you are assigned the work. or you will be screwed. so elementary, middle, and high school students, beware! this is your wanring to get your act together and do your work. or you will learn the hard way.
ReplyDeleteI think the top photo is so true and not only is it college, but any grade that your in. I know that I have done this many times before and I probably started doing it in middle school, it's still been a bad habit of mine. The second picture I think is inspiring to those people who think it's to late to attend school. You can never be to old to go back to school. These pictures with captions are most definitely getting more popular and most people are able to relate to them, that's what makes them get noticed.
ReplyDeleteThese images are pretty funny. I can relate to the senior drinking his beer, even though i do not drink, because I remember procastinating a lot in high school and even now in college. Procastination is a really bad habit to have. Heck, I do not know i'm even doing it most times. It seems to just happen. Some allure that makes it so appealing to just not do anything.
ReplyDeleteI think that memes are hilarious especially when they are related to an experience of yours. The Lazy College Senior meme is something that I always find myself doing. I tend to do things when they are due. Procrastination takes over everytime I have to do something school related especially when it comes to writing long essay and research papers. I'm just never interested.
ReplyDeleteThese memes are really entertaining to read because they are funny yet true. I love reading and watching college humor because it makes me laugh and now that I am in college, most of them are stuff I can relate to or at least enjoy more. The people who create these college memes have quite a sense of humor and wit. If I were to be assigned as lab partners with an elderly woman in college it would be a bit awkward for me. I wouldn't mind though or die about it, but I would just feel unusual because I am not used to seeing elderly men and women on the same school campus as me since I am a freshman and still adjusting.
ReplyDeletethese memes are hilarious. They give a good inside look to college life. Memes have been very popular over the internet, getting many up votes and likes. The reason why is because these are true. The lazy college senior is especially true but it also true for freshmen. Very nice memes.
ReplyDeleteThese meme's are so entertaining to read. They take the pressure off of school and make it funny. They have all different types of these. If I really had the talent and the computer skills I would spend my time making these up. Writing is not my best subject but I think I would be good enough and it would be simple enough to do and create. I personally think I would go crazy if I was in school forever. Taking one class each quarter, oh my gosh! It would drive me crazy. Last year in high school as a senior, I really had "senior-itis". I just wanted to be finished. I would really love to create meme's in my free time..if I had free time.
ReplyDeletepictures like this are very entertaining and many of us can relate to them like the first image where it says "do tomorrow". many of us like to procrastinate and wait till the last minute. sometimes pictures can express the feelings we cant.
ReplyDeleteThese memes are really funny and entertaining and also a lot are very true. A bunch of them are really relatable too. The senior ones had me laughing out loud. In high school the memes were really popular and some of them were even put into our yearbook. I like the iPhone app of all the memes too, i always read them when I'm bored.
ReplyDeleteAs bad as it may sound, I actually cracked a smile from the second meme. It is such a bizarre situation that it is funny. Some of these are usually not humorous at all, but when it is done right and is true, that's when it is funny. I mean, it looks like the kid in the background of the second meme is asking his friend, "what is she doing here?"
ReplyDeleteYes, i love art is a form of expressing yourself to others through art. Like this meme they are extremly funny because they are true and you can relate to them. I usually see meme pictures in 9GAG, which is a popular web page to go on and see this types of memes pictures. Is a great way to actually see pictures that define how you feel about college or school in general. Writing is not my thing first of all I'm not good at It, so creating this types of meme would be actually fun.
ReplyDeleteThese meme's are most definitely entertaining to read! They're hilarious because in most cases, they are true. My most favorite Meme's are the "Condescending Wonka" ones because of the sarcasm. Meme's have always been popular over the internet. You can't miss them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, etcetera.
ReplyDeleteCheck these out!

The meme's I've came across are really funny. i do consider them to be a form of art because it does have graphics and a short witty caption to go along with it that completes the picture. These meme's are really great because anyone can relate to them even if you don't it is still a great way to have a good laugh about it. In our pop culture meme's have been very known on famous websites such as Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter and many more.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see these kind of meme's on other websites, my first thought was "yes, some of them are funny", but most of them either do not make sense or I just don't get the joke. It is good to express how someone feels towards the picture, without captions, everyone would interpret them very differently. I personally will do some photoshop, but I do not like to put captions in them due to the fact that I rather have the person think about their storyline out of the picture, rather than I create the story out of them.
ReplyDeleteThese meme's are hilarious and so accurate. I often find these meme's on Tumblr and they could be about absolutely anything and everything. I find them humorous because even though these meme's are only a few words they definitely get the point across. I love when I'm on Tumblr or Facebook and when some big current event happens like when Obama was re-elected into office there's already a new meme. The pictures of the meme are hilarious as well. Sometimes it can be the most random picture but the words will totally make the picture make sense.
ReplyDeleteI love memes. I think that they are so funny and relatable at the same time. I know that there are several websites that are based on meme posts. The memes showed on the blog entry are pretty funny. On the website Tumblr, I follow a user who posted the picture of the senior citizen in college picture with the actual story of the woman. I felt sad when I was reading her story. That once she graduated, she died. I wonder if the people in these pictures ever feel embarrassed because some of the pictures are making fun of them. For example, there is a meme called "Bad Luck Brian" and one day I read that the boy in the picture changed his name because he was bullied. I do find memes funny but i wonder if they ever feel embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteI like this meme. I havn't had my lab partner die or anything.....yet, but I think its pretty funny how when your sitting in class with a classmate over the age of 30 and they are having a hard time taking freshmen physics. The meme about the college senior couldn't be more true. I had a response due at 12:30 today. I had over two days to do it, but instead, I started it at 12:02. I hope I get a good grade considering it is 12:39.
ReplyDeleteI love these mems because they express everyday life. the first one for example, its basically saying that college and high school kids always puts of assigments untill the day its due. Thats true because I dont know anyone that does there stuff weeks before the due date. and the second one is funny because its saying that she was in school for so long that she died. i think thats how everyone feels about school noiw. it takes so long that people are in school for the majority of their lives.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy these memes because they are one hilarious and two thoughts that we think but can never put in to words. The people that come up with these memes are really funny. My favorite was the wolf one. Also, the one that says, Due Tomorrow, and the do tomorrow, is such a typical college attitude. That's how I use to be, but now I try to not procrastinate as much.
ReplyDeleteI have seen these pictures before on an ifunny app on the iphone. It cracks me up because it is true. Many times when we get homework we post pone it (more like procrastinate) until the very last minute. And i also have had classes where there have been some very old ladies in my class. One way to look at it; the first picture is like predicting what our future selves will be. And by procrastinating so much, we end up being in college even longer. Many students take school for granted. We dont do our work until the last minute and party more than study. While other countries are either not allowed to go to school, are forced not to attend, do not have the privilege, or try their hardest with the only books and supplies they have and only attend for a few years. In America, you can be in your teens or in the 'golden ages' and still attend school. Shows just how good we have it, and how much we take advantage of it and dont always appreciate the opportunities we have in life.
ReplyDeleteMemes used to be funny to me, until it got trendy and well-know, and now I find them rather lame or annoying. Not that they're all super bad. I admit that they truly are funny, but I'm just over it now. Memes indeed cheer people up, and the humor/puns give students a good laugh, giving them a break from the stressful papers that are due the next day. Some memes are just so true, I gotta give them thumbs up for the brilliant joke. Anyway, they were awesome (to me) while they lasted!
ReplyDeleteMemes are often a good way to get a few laughs. Many times memes are used to ridicule people and/or make a statement. It's interesting to me how memes often reflect society. I often find myself questioning society or even myself after seeing certain memes. The first meme was very funny because I often do procrastinate, but it made me feel guilty because I know it is not a great thing to do. I also find it interesting that memes are usually funnier when something or someone that is trending is being used in it. For example, there is a meme of Justin Beiber bald and says, "My music gave me cancer." Although this is funny for people whom dislike Justin Beiber or his music, it is wrong on some levels. I think memes would not be funny or popular if they did not use pathos and related to people.
ReplyDeleteMemes are one of the newest and funniest trends that have hit the internet and are successful. Every night I am on a website called www.9gag.com which posts nothing but memes. I enjoy reading them because they are funny and I can relate to a lot of the post. I tend to not be a person who enjoys art as much because I cannot draw. But when it comes to writing I enjoy writing jokes or “nonsense stories”(it is a random story that is completely random and goes extremely off topic) to make people laugh. With computers I love playing on them but I cannot be on for more than an hour. Otherwise I can see how memes are visual texts and for me it is a great way for me to get a small laugh in here and there.
ReplyDeleteThese internet memes are extremely hilarious, especially if I can relate to them. The funniest ones are about the things I complain about, like work and school. When I see funny college memes like ones about ten page essays, 8 AM classes, and finals, I just laugh it off and feel relieved. It makes me feel better to see that I am not the only one going through it in college. They are like a stress reliever, after all, "laughter is the best medicine."
ReplyDeleteThese memes are pretty. considering the fact that i can relate to the first meme on some occasions makes this meme pretty funny. i would find the second one funnier is the meme was the line the author said which was " corrects history teacher, remembers being there". the caption for the second meme is pretty messed up yet its still funny to me. its pretty messed up that i find it funny too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments and blog above, these memes are hilarious. The memes can relate to most college students because it is totally true, these are the things we go through. I also think students find it so funny because they probably thought they were the only ones who felt or did certain things that way when in reality, so many others are the same.

Let me start off my saying memes are possibly one of man's greatest creation. These make me go from the worst mood ever, to laughing uncontrollably. Have you heard of 9gag? Hilarious. Memes are my escape when Twitter is getting too petty.
I can personally relate to Due Tomorrow, Do Tomorrow (as you see right now) and again, mainly because i am looking at memes and funny videos and get too distracted to do my homework on time.
I'm not sure who invented memes or which meme was the first ever but they must have had some skills with computer editing and must have been pretty bored at work or school. Contrary to belief, it is really easy to create memes. All you do is save the picture, open it on photoshop, corel draw, illustrator, or any other photoshopping program you have, paste the picture, choose your font and add the text! There are even apps on cell phones now that do this. The only hard part is making up the funny sayings.
I challenge you to make some funny, yet school related memes and show them in class to keep students entertained!
